ClearSound Design was introduced Smithville Telephone when they wanted to upgrade their conference room. Their goal was to create a modern conference room that would allow their company and customers to hold video-conference meetings and be able to use a large video screen for conducting training, meetings, etc.
Met with Melissa Patee of Smithville to evaluate where they were and where they wanted to go.
It was decided that a large screen would be needed to provide the many video feeds that were required and to be presented in such a way that it would be usable by anyone using the room. CSD designed a rear projection wall that was 196” wide for the front of the conference room. The system was designed around an RGB Spectrum MediaWall unit that would allow up to 6 video displays to be presented at once. All the control would come from AMX touch panels that would be programmed by ClearSound Design.
A proposal was created along with a “virtual” 3D rendering of the proposed room from several angles allowing Smithville to see what the room would look like before ever committing to any construction.
After the proposal was accepted, construction began. This included creating an audio/visual room to house the rear projection equipment.
Next the equipment racks and screen components were installed. Two Digital Projection projectors were used with screen blending by RGB Spectrum to create the one seamless display that was 196” x 65”. The screen was a rear projection system from DaLite Screen with a short throw mirror system. The AMX programming was completed by ClearSound Design to allow end user control over what video feeds and configuration was displayed. Control was also installed to control room lighting, video conference control, teleconference, audio, etc.
Once the room was complete, ClearSound Design and Smithville worked together to tweak the room to its final configuration.
Smithville offers the room for use to the public and companies that need a modern conference center to conduct video conferencing and meetings.
